DISKUSI SERI III
"Mereka berkehendak memadamkan Nur (the Light) ALLAH dengan ucapan-ucapan mereka, tetapi ALLAH bahkan menyempurnakan Nur (the Light)-Nya, sekalipun mereka yang mengingkarinya menjadi dengki."

Rasulullah menunduk sejenak, air matanya membasahi pipinya, kemudian jawabnya: Wahai Jabir, sesungguhnya ALLAH sebelum menciptakan segala sesuatu, terlebih dahulu Dia menciptakan Nur (the Light) kenabianku dari Nur-Nya.

(QS. Ar-Ruum: 20)
(QS. An-Nuur: 16)

Moch Ali : Ayat yang lain, QS. al-Maidah [5]:15 juga menjelaskan bahwa Muhammad SAW sebagai Nur (the Light). "Ho lae tu Bibliu! Sas elthe ho Allegiaphoros sas, ho opoios apokaluptai megalo meros tu periechomenou tu Bibliu, polla ek tōn opoiōn aichate apokrupsai kai paralaipsai. Sas elthe pragmati apo ton Allah ena Phōs kai ena Biblio saphes.” (To Iero Koranio. Kephalaio Al-Mainta [5]15).
O People of the Scripture! Now hath Our messenger come unto you, expounding unto you much of that which ye used to hide in the Scripture, and forgiving much. Now hath come unto you Light from Allah and a plain Scripture. (the Table Spread/ al-Ma’idah [5]:15).
Zij zeiden: We bekrachtigen. Vgl.
George Sale translated the verse Ali Imran [3]:81 as follows, “And remember when God accepted the covenant of the prophets, saying, This verily is the scripture and the wisdom which I have given you: hereafter shall an Apostle come unto you, confirming the truth of that scripture which is with you; ye shall surely believe on him, and ye shall assist him. God said, Are ye firmly resolved, and do ye accepted my covenant on this condition? They answered, We are firmly resolved: God said, Be ye therefore witnesses; and I also bear witness with you: and whosever turneth back after this, they are surely the transgressors.” In the footnote of the verse, Sales states, “some commentators interpret this of the children of Israel themselves, of whose race the prophets were. But others say the souls of all the prophets, even of those who were not then born, were present on mount Sinai when God gave the law of Moses, and that they enter into the covenant here mentioned with him. A story borrowed by Muhammad from the Talmudists, and therefore most probably his true meaning in this place.” E. H. Palmer (1840-1882 B.C.), an English Orientalist and Professor of Arabic at Cambridge University, U.K. even translated the verse Ali Imran [3]: 81 as follows: “And when Allah took the compact from the prophets this is surely what we have given you of the Book and wisdom. Then shall to you the Apostle confirming what is with you. Ye must believe in him and help him. He said, moreover, Are ye resolved and have ye taken my compact on that condition? They say, We are resolved.’ He said, ‘Then bear witness, for I am witness with you, but he who turns back after that, these are sinners. At the footnote of the verse, he says, “the legend, borrowed from Talmudic sources, is that Allah assembled all past, present, and future prophets on mount Sinai and entered into the compact mentioned in the text. Other, J.M. Rowell, M.A., who was well-known by scholars of the West as one of the early translators of the Scripture of Islam in the Protestant world, at the beginning of his note of the same verse, Ali Imran [3]:81, he then comments: “assembled on mount Sinai. Compare the Jewish legend, that all the prophets, even those who were not yet born, were present on mount Sinai when God gave the law to Moses. See Shemoth Rabba, parashah 28, according to which, not only the prophets but the rabbis of every generation, were present at the giving of the Law. However, their commentaries on the verse are really important information for me to trace the source of borrowing as the truth. Yet, I research the Jewish documents as George Sale, M.H. Palmer, and J.M. Rodwell mentioned it, I find the source of their quotation in the book of Abraham Geiger. In that book, there is a narrative Agadic text of the Talmud and the Midrash, by commentator Rabbi Shlomo Yitzhaki of Troyes who lived in the eleventh century , known as Rashi on the Shemoth Rabba, parashah 27-28 (Exodus 27-28), Abodah Zarah II.2, cf. two summaries of Jerusalem Targum. The corresponding Rabbinical statement may be translated as follows,
“The Israelites desired two things of God, that they might see His glory and hear His voice; and both were granted them as it is written in Deuteronomy 5:24 ‘Behold the Lord our God hath shewed us His glory and His greatness, and we have heard His voice out of the midst of the fire.’ Then they had no power to bear it, for when they came to Sinai and He appeared to them, their soul departed at His speech as it is written in Canticles 5:6 ‘My soul went forth when He spake.’ The Law (the Torah) however interceded with God for them saying, ‘Would a king marry his daughter and slay all his household?’ The whole world rejoices on account of my appearance, and shall thy children (the Israelites) die? At once their souls returned to them, therefore it is written in Psalms 19:8 ‘the Law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul.”
